who we support
The goal of The BreakRoom Café is for the local community to come together, assisting the under-resourced in our local and surrounding communities through their generosity and giving. These donations come in many forms; from pastries and coffee, to unpurchased bread delivered to different food pantries, and even cash donations made in the café itself. The BreakRoom is dedicated to actively supporting these organizations who have themselves, committed to providing critical protective and supportive services within the larger Central Florida area.

Our Story: A Hand Up, Not a Hand Out
New Beginnings, a 501(c)(3) not for profit, was founded in June 2007 by concerned community leaders who saw far too few services available in Central Florida for those losing their jobs and homes.
Research shows that it costs nearly 90% less to prevent an episode of homelessness for a family of 4 then it costs to help the family out of homelessness. It cost on average about $12,000 to get a family out of homelessness and only $1,600 to prevent that same family from becoming homeless.
As the needs grew in our community New Beginnings spearheaded an effort give relief and hope to more of the community through partnerships with local churches, businesses and ourselves. We serve over 400 people weekly from our food pantries and our Helping Hands Outreach program.
